Tonopah Westercon: Not a Hoax

Kuma Bear understands that some people think that he would perpetuate a Hoax. Kuma Bear may be small, but he's very sincere. Kevin has assured him that if all of the things listed on the flier below happen, Kuma Bear can hold his convention.



Kuma Bear of course wants the best place for Westercon 65 to win and hopes that everyone will participate by voting for their favorite site.

Always remember what Kuma Bear says: "If you can't think of any place better, Vote Tonopah!"

This is very cool. Must throw a chit towards it soon. If this actually gets some votes, Would you make it a 2013 Worldcon bid for Reno?

Any funds the bid takes in are cheerfully accepted by the Treasurer (me).

I don't think we'll see a Worldcon bid out of this, for various reasons:

• It wouldn't be a legal bid, because the site is within 800 km of Reno, and Kuma Bear doesn't bid unqualified sites even if he doesn't actually file them.


• Kuma Bear is a small bear, and therefore only does small bids.


• Kuma Bear's friends, who do most of the heavy lifting for him, are planning Bear's Birthday Party next year and would be too busy to run bid parties for him.
