Fanzine Bear

Kuma and Lisa arrived in San Jose today for SiliCon. Kuma spent much of the afternoon watching TV while Kevin and Lisa moved cartloads of stuff from their vehicles into the hotel room.

Later, Kuma made an appearance at the Fanzine Lounge, which, located smack in the middle of SiliCon's Party Floor, turned out to be The Place To Be Seen.

Here Kuma Bear is seen with the famous Chris Garcia. Chris is the one with the beard.

Although it was time to go back to his room, it was hard to drag Kuma Bear away from a copy of Chris' Hugo-award-nominated fanzine The Drink Tank.

Bear will be around SiliCon all weekend to see and be seen.

Hey Kuma!

Looks like you're having fun at Silicon! I wish I could be there, but alas, it's not to be.

Pass the word for me that people should be careful this year, as concrud is nasty this year. I've got a friend who's very sick and in the hospital due to complications from the flu, which he picked up at a convention. I don't want any more of my friends to get sick.

Fortunately, Bear can't catch people flu, but you're quite right about Con Crud. Lisa has ordered me not to eat anything at the parties, which is a difficult thing, but she's right. I leave for Chicago on Monday mid-day and will be there a week. I can't afford to be sick.
